Persönlich verstehe ich die Angriffe auf Graham hier auch nicht wirklich. Vielleicht würde man das, was er Dissertation nennt, bei uns anders bezeichnen.

Und wenn schon - es ist auf jeden Fall eine interessante Fragestellung, die auch für uns im Forum sehr aufschlussreich sein kann.

Ein Bezug zu Trolls oder ähnlichen Phänomenen ist für mich jedenfalls absolut nicht herstellbar.

Honestly I do not know what I did wrong. The information which I wished to disclose publicly in this Forum is contained here:

"ich habe vor kurzem mein Diplom am WSET in London gemacht und versuche nun, für die Honours Unit eine Dissertation zu schreiben.
Das von mir gewählte Thema ist kontrovers: „Mineralität im Wein – Wahrheit, Spaß oder Legende“
Wissenschaftler bestreiten diese Möglichkeit mit dem Argument, dass Bodengesteine nicht in der Lage sind, den Weg in die Trauben zu schaffen – mit Ausnahme von geschmacksneutralen, mineralischen Ionen in sehr geringer Konzentration."

I think the issue is the use of the word "Dissertation". It is clearly not a Dissertation in the German sense. More a "Mini-Dissertation" as it does not lead to a Doktortitle, just the title Honours Diploma. I am sorry that I am not willing to give out further personal information in a public forum context. I expected people to discuss Minerality - rather than me (I can assure everybody that I am very boring!!).

You are not very familiar with forums, indeed. That's what always happens.

Obviously this is part of the problem, as in German "Dissertation" is a fixed expression, "seminar paper" or something like this might probably be the better term in this context.

Unfortunately I cannot open the pdf-file, it would have been interesting to learn more.

Sounds interesting and it's probably not easy to get the diploma.

What I really would like to know is what you think about minerality, fact or fiction? Maybe you tell us after you passed the exam.
